Afrovibes Festival 2025 | Legacy
This autumn marks the 22nd edition of the Afrovibes Festival — once again bringing together performances of dance, theatre, and music by contemporary African creators. Featuring artists from countries such as Morocco, South Africa, Côte d'Ivoire, and Uganda, the festival offers artistic reflections on urgent themes and questions that resonate not only in Africa, but also here in the Netherlands.
Afrovibes is about who we are, who we want to be, and how we are connected. It stands out as a festival that brings together artists from Africa and the African diaspora in the Netherlands.
Festival theme 2025: Legacy | Heritage
In the 2025 edition, African dance and theatre makers respond to the spirit of the present moment — as they experience it. They explore questions around cultural heritage and how we can learn from the past about courage, ethics, and collective strength. Their work reflects the tension between traditional African rituals and modern-day greed. They offer visions of how, in a time of war and climate crisis, we might find belief and trust in a sustainable and stable future.
What legacy are we leaving behind for the generations to come?
