Zo! Mute is a double bill (double performance) in which two of South Africa's greatest choreographers Gregory Maqoma and Vincent Mantsoe reflect on how we think about human sacrifice and the spiritual power of mankind.

Six dancers depict how the spirit can overcome loss of dignity, grief and greed. They mesmerise the audience, in group or duet form, with their powerful and exuberant movements that they master to perfection. The dancers are accompanied by hypnotic and rhythmic music, sounds from their own bodies or silence. In this way, the old artistic dance power of South Africa culminates in a modern dance performance.

In Zo! the dancers interpret a legacy of greed, despair and weakness and give a psychological manifestation of power. Gregory responds to Vincent with Mute, which gives power to voices and bodies to confront greed with the spiritual power of the human spirit. In doing so, they question whether we can create a future, a an utopia, out of loss.
