Residencies

Venuri Perera is een choreograaf, performancekunstenaar, curator en docent uit Colombo, Sri Lanka. Ze is in 2022 afgestudeerd aan DAS Theatre. Door onderzoek te doen naar de machtsdynamiek van het kijken, probeert ze de manier waarop we de ‘ander’ waarnemen, te destabiliseren. 

Eisa Jocson is een hedendaagse choreograaf en danser uit de Filipijnen en wordt in veel landen erkend als een van de meest charismatische choreografen van haar generatie. In haar voorstellingen onderzoekt ze verschillende manieren van misbruik van arbeidskrachten uit de Filipijnen. Ze zoekt daarbij altijd de lichtpuntjes in serieuze onderwerpen en legt stereotypen over Filipijnen en gemeenschappen in Zuidoost-Azië in het algemeen bloot. 

Sinem Kavus is actrice en maker. In 2017 studeerde zij af van de acteursopleiding aan de Academie voor Theater & Dans in Amsterdam. In datzelfde jaar maakte zij haar eerste soloperformance I Used To Be Snowhite But I Drifted bij Frascati in het kader van Fraslab. Sinem heeft zich de afgelopen jaren ontwikkeld als maker en acteur in zowel theater als film. Als maker creëert zij performances die gaan over haar ervaringen in de wereld als vrouw en de zoektocht naar hoe mens te zijn.

Wojciech Grudziński (PL, 1991) is a Polish artist, choreographer and dancer based in Amsterdam. What he explores in his work are the in-between and interdisciplinary spaces, queerness, and embracing diversity. His practice is based on performative freedom and investigating implicit or explicit power dynamics in theater and choreography. He graduated from the Warsaw State Ballet School and the faculty of contemporary dance at the CODARTS in Rotterdam. Throughout his Master Studies at DAS Theatre (2021-2023), Grudziński explored the bowing gesture and its ambiguous meanings. As a performer he worked with many artists, including Dries Verhoeven, Ben J. Riepe, Marta Ziółek, Maria Magdalena Kozłowska and Ula Sickle. In February 2024, Wojciech presented his performance BOW A STUDY at Frascati. 

David Roos (Amsterdam, 2000) graduated in acting from Toneelacademie Maastricht institute of performative arts in 2022. Since then he has lived in Brussels, and he is currently studying philosophy. His work is language-based and philosophical. Drawing on the literary and artistic canon, he connects and deconstructs classic source material to form a personal, contemporary story. His style is transparent, in the tradition of groups such as Maatschappij Discordia. On the basis of this transparency, he attempts to create a transcendental theatrical experience. Recurring themes in this are language and meaning, seeming and reality, the Holocaust and identity. He is always on the lookout for ways to radically interrogate his own certainties.
