Is your masculinity in jeopardy by swaying your butt, hips or pelvis? A provocative choreography centred on the pelvis and the obsession of the dancers with their gender and their body.

In L'Homme Rare, choreographer Nadia Beugré focuses on gender. Amused, she wonders why men often feel uncomfortable to make dance movements that are seen as 'typically feminine'. Is your masculinity in jeopardy by swaying your butt, hips or pelvis? Who or what determines our concepts of male and female and how do these concepts influence our way of looking at things?

In L'Homme Rare, Beugré brings together five high-heeled dancers, scantily clad and sometimes naked, who are trained in different dance styles like the sensual South American dances such as Passinho and Carioca funk. With the dancers, Nadia Beugré creates a provocative choreography centred on the pelvis and the obsession of the dancers with their gender and their body.
