Open Call: Perform in When the Bleeding Stops
Take the stage at Julidans 2025 in Frascati!
Are you going through menopause and would you like to be part of a unique dance performance? Frascati and Julidans are looking for women who are in this phase of life and willing to share their stories. Join When the Bleeding Stops, created by Icelandic choreographer Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir.
This groundbreaking performance is a powerful tribute to the aging body and part of an international project connecting people in menopause through movement and shared experience. No dance experience required – your story, your presence, your body is what matters.
At forty, Lovísa suffered an injury and entered menopause at the same time. This forced her to re-examine her relationship with her body and her artistic practice. What began as a personal exploration has grown into an expanding international community of women who come together to dance, share, and be seen.
Want to take part?
Participation begins at the end of May with an online session. This includes a personal conversation with the choreographer and dancing in your own living room. During this process, short videos may be recorded. With your consent, parts of these videos might be shown on stage during the performance.
Participants are also invited to perform live on stage during three performances at Frascati.
