Frascati is a leading theatre and production house in the heart of Amsterdam where making theatre, showing work and bringing people together are inseparably interlinked. Frascati is a meeting place for art-lovers, makers, thinkers and innovators with four spaces on the Nes in Amsterdam where each year more than 500 Dutch and international productions can be seen.
Our production house provides the scope for young, talented makers to develop into independent stage and performance artists. There is no typical Frascati maker: they work across and within multiple disciplines, often internationally, seek out cross-overs, go their own way and ask questions of the world. As the biggest production house in the Netherlands, each year we realise some thirty productions and co-productions.
We make and programme cutting-edge, innovative work in the centre of the city, on location around the city and in our own Theater van Deyssel venue in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. We cherish the makers affiliated to our production house and our regular companies, but also like to open our doors to new voices. Now more than ever, the world seems to need imagination and connection.
