Mees Vervuurt (2000) is a composer and director based in Amsterdam. He creates physical music performances—worlds in which music, movement, space, and image intertwine. His work often grows beyond the fixed frames of the stage: in empty halls, unexpected corners, or places where silence resonates louder than sound.
Mees’ performances are worlds in which audiences are invited to wander, discover, and disappear. Together with philosopher-dramaturg Roel Meijvis and managing director Doortje van Duin, he forms Studio Vacuüm; through this foundation he produces new projects and experiments with sound, movement, and space.
