Dutch premiere of "In relation to whom? مرتاحة؟" at Frascati

Can body memory be consciously forgotten? In In relation to whom? مرتاحة؟, choreographers Marah Haj Hussein and Nur Garabli explore the effects of militarization on the body through their own experiences in occupied Palestine. The Dutch premiere will take place on 6 October as part of Frascati International.

In this dance performance, Marah and Nur investigate the notion of dance techniques in relation to militarization as a deliberate strategy of control. At the same time, they ask whether can bodiy memory can consciously be unlearned. In response, they rewrite a language on their own terms. Through activating other ways of moving, their lines become intersected in a non-linear way.

Marah Haj Hussein (PS/BE) won the Flemish Actor's Guild Award 2025 for Best Acting Performance in the category of under 35. Her research focuses on colonial body languages and their imposing power. Nur Garabli (PS) is a Palestinian choreographer and dancer from occupied Yaffa. She mixes Palestinian folklore and contemporary techniques. Nur co-curated Moving Together (2022 & 2023), a festival gathering women through dance and shared heritage.

In relation to whom? مرتاحة؟ had its international premiere at Monty, Antwerp, in May 2026. On 6 October, the work will be presented in the Netherlands for the first time at Frascati, followed by an international tour.
