A dive into the world of desire, seduction and the dark side of contemporary escapism.

Raw, sensual, rebellious and confrontational: the hard-hitting dance collective Trevoga mixes pop culture, the club scene, ‘high art’ and a dash of dystopia into an explosive commentary on the spirit of the times. With their new performance Xx-63, they dive into the world of desire, seduction and the dark side of contemporary escapism.

After spaces once called underground are rebuilt as luxury apartments,
After corporate-funded pride parades, where we danced like it mattered-then realized it didn't.
Trevoga steps straight into this afterlife, at the vestibule of hell.

Following their award-winning 11 3 8 7 (Best of Amsterdam Fringe 2023; NRC Top 5 performances of 2023-2024), Xx-63 dives deeper into the depths of desire, seduction, and contemporary escapism through a hauntological remix of the recent past.

The result is a visceral dreamscape straight from the recesses of our zeitgeist where dance, visual imagery, theatre, and sound collide in an unflinching reflection on urban excess and the weight of self-inflicted stillness.

In Xx-63, the capitalist body is not a sacred space, but an abandoned shopping mall, cluttered with the remnants of consumer culture, synthetic chemicals, and sexually charged imagery. The performers convulse within a sticky fog of emotional fatigue, where euphoric repetition starts to feel tight, and withdrawal becomes not just a symptom, but a choreography; a tactic of flight in a system buckling under its own excess.

About Trevoga

Trevoga is a performance collective led by Sandberg x SNDO alumna Neda Ruzheva. Driven by a desire to let the anxiety of the present be not just a metaphor but a medium, the group treats the stage as a dissection table for 21st-century identity. Pulling apart emotional and cultural debris into disorienting imagery, the collective offers a reflection of the world as it truly feels—fractured, contradictory, and worth losing sleep over.
