The SK Concert is resumed! PERMANENT DESTRUCTION will tour the Netherlands and abroad again in 2022 with their production from 2018. The SK Concert is a melodramatic energy concert by theater maker Naomi Velissariou and sound producer Joost Maaskant. Together they form the pop-up band PERMANENT DESTRUCTION. The performance is a sexy show about self-loathing and unrequited love, with deadly poetic lyrics and an excessive use of autotune. With genres ranging from R&B to industrial hardcore and with excessive use of auto-tune and trap hop references. Naomi Velissariou received the Directing Prize 2019 for The SK Concert.

For this concert, Naomi Velissariou is inspired by Sarah Kane (1971-1999), one of the most notorious playwrights of recent decades, whose psychological state found such an uncompromising resonance in her work. Against the background of Frederik Heyman's video work, the merciless lyrics, beats and bass lines take on a monumental visual dimension.

The performance premiered on 20 May 2018 in De Paardenkathedraal Utrecht during SPRING and was shown that year at festivals such as Oerol, Over het IJ Festival (Shelter Amsterdam), Theater Aan Zee, Absolutely Free Festival and Lowlands. The SK Concert is the first part of the PERMANENT DESTRUCTION trilogy. In 2019 Naomi made part two: The HM Concert, and in 2020 part three: Pain Against Fear, which toured until the summer of 2021. For this last production, Naomi received the Theo d'Or 2021.

PERMANENT DESTRUCTION start als een choquerende bigmouth-performance waarin Velissariou de stamina van haar publiek lijkt te testen met foute grappen, maar met elk nummer lijken er meer laagjes van haar te worden afgepeld, tot ze ergens tegen het eind, slingerend rond een paal, alleen nog maar liefdesverlangen en eenzaamheid kan uitschreeuwen. Zo ongerijmd als vorm en inhoud elkaar aanvankelijk lijken tegen te spreken, zo evident versterken ze uiteindelijk elkaar.
