Conversations on motherhood, aging and a warming world.
Thu 2 Oct ’25
and
Fri 3 Oct ’25

HOT WALK is a multidisciplinary performance by choreographer Keren Levi, exploring the intersection of climate change, aging, and parenthood.

Nobody goes out anymore: out of their houses, out of their worn-out habits and assigned bodies, out of their irrational fears and self-defeating anger. Life is definitely not a walk in the park—if it ever was. The world is too hot to stroll.

Yet, once again, Keren invites you to join a virtual promenade through a burned landscape. While she cannot promise you anything, she holds onto an improbable hope: if we keep in step with each other, we might just arrive back home, refreshed.

HOT WALK delves into the dual nature of transformation, highlighting both its challenges and restorative effects. Set against projected images of a picturesque park landscape, the performance features conversations in English between two women walking on treadmills, creating the illusion of traversing the park. By blending the personal with the planetary, HOT WALK connects inner and outer climates, offering a vivid yet restrained exploration of change.

  • Duration: 65 mins.

In the press

“The interaction of text and image is undoubtedly successful. But what makes the performance special is the play with different levels of reality.” WN Münster

“Keren Levi (...) combines supposedly female and environmental issues, the internal and external climate in an interesting way. Climate change, signs of ageing and parenthood intersect in an unusual way.” Rheinische Post

About Keren Levi

Since 2004, Keren Levi has been creating multidisciplinary dance performances that often originate from a central idea, appealing to both adults and young audiences. Her combinations of abstract concepts and technology stimulate the imagination. In HOT WALK, Keren continues to explore themes of perception by combining different viewpoints and manipulating video imagery.
