Winter Wieringa

Winter is a freelance dancer, researcher, and choreographer. There is an ongoing fascination with themes surrounding the individual in conflict with societal systems. He wants his work to always be physical, but does not tie himself to a specific form; each question results in a new movement quality.
After graduating from the Modern Theatre Dance department in 2020, he went on to study Artistic Research at the University of Amsterdam. In 2024, he won the Jonge Zwaan at the Dutch Dance Days for his role in Hoop by Danstheater Aya.
Previously, he created No One Is an Island, which premiered in December 2024. This work is a physical investigation into humanity within a culture of disposability.
