In collaboration with ADE, WhyNot is organizing OFFVENUE between October 17 and 24. This project brings dance, theater, and performance to unexpected places in the city.

On Thursday, October 23, and Friday, October 24, OFFVENUE offers a walking tour along the raw edges of Amsterdam Nieuw-West, where hidden locations are transformed into stages for performances and artistic interventions. In the early evening, Club Raum, Atelier Touki Delphine, and theater hub De Sloot open their doors to offer fresh perspectives on nightlife and its ever-evolving rituals.

Lose yourself in the hypnotic pole dance trip Monolith 1: The Black Piece by Sofie Kramer and composer Mári Mákó, where the pole becomes a sacred object and a gateway to another world full of ancient wisdom. Experience SENESCENCE, a performative installation by Camiel Corneille exploring the dark side of perfection, where the boundaries between physical capabilities and modern-day torture are examined. And discover the exhibition by RAUM artist-in-residence Catalina Reyes Navarro, who investigates nightlife as a space of transformation, decay, and regeneration.

Start your tour with dinner at community kitchen De Sering at 6:00 PM. The cost is €30.00, which includes the tour, dinner, and a drink.

As part of OFFVENUE, WhyNot also offers two dance workshops:

Friday, October 17, Sofie Kramer: Workshop Sensual Body Awareness (all levels) @ De Sloot (Dance Space Destiny), Rhoneweg 6-10
A workshop for anyone who wants to connect with their sensual side and drop deeper into their body.

Wednesday, October 22, Elisa Zuppini: Workshop Disambiguation (advanced level) @ Frascati Studio 1, Nes 71
A workshop exploring the principles of Elisa’s unique movement practice, inspired by her performance Disambiguation, which premiered at Frascati in May.
