The Coproducers – Theatres Put On the Producer’s Hat Together

Fourteen Dutch theatres, including Frascati, have joined forces under the name The Coproducers. Together, we support theatre and dance makers in developing their artistic practice. The collaboration began in 2013 to bring supply and demand closer together and to fill the gap left by the reduction of production house subsidies.

Through The Coproducers, makers get three years of space and support to grow, experiment, and build their audience. We work together to create a sustainable artistic practice – with a focus on artistic freedom, depth, and a strong foundation for the future.

Thanks to financial support and marketing efforts from The Coproducers, makers gain additional performance opportunities while participating theatres focus on audience development in their cities. The goal? That these makers become lasting presences on stages and in the hearts of audiences.

“The Coproducers bring the triangle of makers, theatres, and audiences much closer together. They provide space and time to create, present, and grow an audience. This setup benefits everyone involved.” — Hanno Tomassen, Chair of The Coproducers

Coming soon at Frascati

This season, you can also experience two special productions at Frascati, created in collaboration with The Coproducers.

PRESSURE POINT – Vanja Rukavina in collaboration with The Coproducers
In PRESSURE POINT, we follow Viktor, a Bosnian-Dutch tennis player on the verge of making history – until he is unexpectedly denied entry to Wimbledon due to a new Balkan conflict. While all he wants is to play, he becomes an unwitting pawn of politics.

ATLAS – ROTOR in collaboration with The Coproducers
How do we carry responsibility in a society that glorifies individualism? ATLAS is a poetic and sensory performance exploring shared responsibility.
Inspired by philosopher Byung-Chul Han, ROTOR searches for calm, collaboration, and connection in a world that moves ever faster.
