Open Call – Het Verbond at Frascati

For the past year and a half, Frascati has been exploring with a group of independent makers how a shared working environment and community can take shape in Frascati 4. Building on these experiences, we are now taking the next step: the official relaunch of Het Verbond. Alongside the current keyholders, we are opening the doors to around fifteen new makers who want to deepen their practice and become part of a collaborative working community.

Are you a maker in the early stage of your career? Are you looking for a place to research, reflect and exchange, without the direct pressure of production? Join Het Verbond: a shared working and meeting space in the heart of Amsterdam. Aimed at artists who want to deepen and broaden their practice, and reflect it against the world around them.

Who is it for?
We are looking for makers in the first stage of their professional career, with two to six years of experience and a few productions already realized. You work autonomously, are curious and critical, and actively take responsibility within a shared environment.

What does Het Verbond offer?
Het Verbond offers makers a space for reflection, exchange, and deepening alongside the daily practice of writing, creating, and researching. It is not a production house, but a shared infrastructure: Frascati provides the spaces and facilities, while the content, energy and initiatives come from the makers themselves. Members receive keys to three spaces in Frascati 4: the Atelier, the Salon and the Verbond Café. More information can be found on the website.

What do we expect?
As a keyholder you commit for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three. Active involvement is essential. Of course, your own artistic practice comes first, but we ask for a willingness to occasionally open up your research or working process to others. Each member organizes at least one activity per year – such as a workshop, talk, film screening or research presentation – and contributes to the shared (working) environment.

Practicalities
There are no membership fees (apart from a key deposit). The artistic team at Frascati will make a selection to ensure a diverse and inspiring group. Starting in October, we will welcome up to twenty members who will shape this new phase of Het Verbond together.
