New perspectives on nightlife during OFF VENUE
In collaboration with Amsterdam Dance Event, WhyNot presents: OFF VENUE, from October 17 to 24.
A program featuring dance, theatre, and performance at unexpected locations throughout Amsterdam.
On Thursday, October 23, and Friday, October 24, a Performance Tour will take place along the raw edges of Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Hidden spaces will be transformed, for one time only, into temporary stages. This edition features Atelier Touki Delphine, Club Raum, and theatre hub De Sloot, all opening their doors.
At these locations, you can experience Monolith 1: The Black Piece, a hypnotic pole-dance trip by Sofie Kramer and Mári Mákó; an exhibition by Catalina Reyes Navarro exploring nightlife as a space of decay; and SENESCENCE, an installation by Camiel Corneille delving into the dark side of perfection.
Before the tour, you are welcome at volkskeuken De Sering at 18:00 for a dinner priced at €30, which includes a ticket and a drink.
In addition, WhyNot is organizing two exclusive dance sessions that further enrich the OFF VENUE program. On Friday, October 17, Sofie Kramer will lead the workshop Sensual Body Awareness at Dance Space Destiny, Rhoneweg 6-10. A gentle, sensual experience for anyone seeking a deeper connection with their body. On Wednesday, October 22, Elisa Zuppini will give the workshop Disambiguation in Frascati Studio 1. Inspired by her performance of the same name, this session offers advanced dancers insight into Elisa’s movement practice.
