Diane Mahín is an Iranian-Dutch performance maker and sociologist. Sound forms the backbone of her work: a single bodily sound can open up an entire world. In that world, she deconstructs socially conditioned behavior and reassembles it into performative material. Her work makes tangible how absurd and destructive everyday human behavior can be. She presents her work in theaters, museums, and at festivals, creating spaces where darkness is not avoided but emerges raw, sensory, and sometimes unexpectedly humorous.
