FAREWELL

Perry Gits / Tafel van Vijf Muziektheater
Tue 17 Mar ’26 and Wed 18 Mar ’26
A pop-up exhibition and a unique movement performance about the celebration of life and death.
Tue 17 Mar ’26
and
Wed 18 Mar ’26

Influenced by fashion, the club scene, and live music, Perry explores life and death in this new work. Which traditions and rituals shape him and his surroundings? And which ones does he create himself?

The audience is taken on a becoming of age journey about the celebration of life and death. The performance takes place on a specially designed Claywalk, a catwalk made of earth and clay, inviting the audience to travel along towards a new beginning.

The dress code for the audience is a symbolic reference to Ghanaian funeral rituals, where black represents grief and mourning, and red stands for the emotional pain of loss.

Exhibition

The travelling exhibition accompanying FAREWELL by Museum Tot Zover invites reflection on cultural and personal rituals and traditions surrounding life and death. Museum Tot Zover is located on the grounds of De Nieuwe Ooster cemetery in Amsterdam and collects objects and stories about history, contemporary culture, and the ways we relate to life, death, and farewell.

  • Dresscode: red and black
