Somewhere between a spinning class and a performative lecture, No Pares (sigue, sigue) (Don't stop (keep going, keep going)) presents itself as a modern Sisyphus trapped in incessant pedaling. A performance that repeats in a loop, attempting to surpass itself with each turn to reach the next level, recognition, and success, always out of reach. With an enthusiastic tone and merengue house music in the background, the audience is progressively seduced into becoming part of this self-exploiting delirium.

Using humor, this participatory performance investigates the violence hidden behind the imperative of effort, improvement, and perpetual self-realization characteristic of turbocapitalism. The project unmasks the forms of violence and domination that lie behind the euphoria and optimism of success and self-improvement narratives, revealing the guilt, self-punishment, and dissatisfaction that accompany them.

Beyond revealing the incompatibility of neoliberal temporalities and narratives with our bodies, No Pares (sigue, sigue) proposes strategies that allow us to collectively break with the inertia of productivity and its mechanisms of seduction.

About Sergi Casero Nieto

Sergi Casero Nieto (Barcelona, 1991) is a performance-maker and designer. His work is situated at the crossroads between the white cube of the gallery and the black box of the theatre. In that grey space, Casero attempts to dissect contemporary malaise from the stage, focusing on the subtle yet violent impacts that hegemonic narratives exert on our daily lives. His practice plays with the limits of representation, the body, and participation, challenging the power structures that shape our existence.

In 2025, Sergi performed his work El Pacto del Olvido (The Pact of Forgetting) in Frascati. Furthermore, his performances have been presented at numerous international festivals and institutions, including: Théâtre de la Ville (Paris, France), Auawirleben (Bern, Switzerland), Festival delle Colline Torinesi (Turin, Italy), Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid, Spain), B.Motion Festival (Bassano del Grappa, Italy), Enduring Love Festival (Centrale Fies, Dro, Italy), Veem House for Performance (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven, Netherlands), Het Nieuwe Instituut (Rotterdam, Netherlands).

In recent years, Sergi has been selected for artistic residencies at different spaces, such as Fábrica de Creación Fabra i Coats (Barcelona, 2025), Centro de Residencias para Artistas Visuales Matadero (Madrid, 2023), and Live Works – Free School of Performance at Centrale Fies (Dro, Italy, 2021), where he is an associated artist through the Fies Factory program.
