About Kim Karssen
Kim Karssen (1996) graduated from the performance course in Maastricht in 2018. She is a theatre-maker and actress who in her productions takes on big themes in a grotesque, playful way. With a great love of language and stories, she embarks on an imaginative quest for the balance between laughter and tears. She is not afraid of the shadows and loves an unplanned diversion.
With Frascati Producties, Kim has been seen in collaborations with Florian Myjer: Bloomsbury, Oorlog en Vrede (Frascati Producties, 2019, nominated for the BNG Theaterprijs 2021), Mephisto Park (Frascati Producties, 2019) and Mann Mann Mann (De Warme Winkel / Frascati Producties, 2022). She also made De Grap (with Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe) in co-production with Frascati Producties.
Kim has been working under the Frascati Producties umbrella since the 2022/2023 season. September 2022 saw the première of Schrödingers hond: an absurd production on the power of our thoughts. “In this original production, Kim Karssen shows what a boundless imagination can achieve.” ★★★★ de Volkskrant.
She will be touring the Netherlands with this show September thru December 2023.
