Biography

Iggy Malmborg is a theatre-maker and actor from Malmö, Sweden. Although he trained in traditional acting at the theatre school in Malmö, his work – both solo and in collaboration – spans a broad range of aesthetics and styles.  
His major artistic interest is the use of performance as a model by means of which the discourse of the piece can be applied directly. Using minimalist strategies, he shines a light on the politics of theatre and explains this as a hierarchical machine with (unintentional) patterns of inclusion and exclusion. Over the years Iggy's work has gained international recognition and he has been praised for his ability to present a complex intellectual discourse concretely, with humour and warmth.

Iris, pupil, retina, etc., is devoted to seeing, and language’s intervention in visual perception. The piece focuses on the eye as an organ, how the outer world invades our senses and how we are to deal with the chaotic information piercing us when the eyes are open.
Physics and Phantasma
Physics and Phantasma devotes itself to the function, production and need of fantasy. To fantasize is the setting for our desire and a necessary tool for us to become, what we call, whole subjects. At the same time the ba-sis of any revolutionary potential and the foundation of racist preju-dice. In the thinking of this piece, the phantasmatic is far most a de-fence mechanism enabling us to comprehend with the inconsisten-cies of the world.
