Searching for authenticity in a world that celebrates queerness only when it’s convenient

When is the fight for the queer community truly genuine, and when is it exploited for political or commercial gain? All About Us is an interdisciplinary collaboration between musician Jonathan Bonny (winner Fringe at Best award 2024) and dancer Manuel Kiros Paolini. Together, they turn the spotlight on pinkwashing by forming the controversial performance duo Pink Armada, inspired by the iconic Russian pop duo t.A.T.u.

All About Us combines the spectacle of a commercial pop show with the vulnerability of an intimate dance piece. Through this absurd, aggressive ánd vulnerable performance, the makers expose how queer narratives are exploited for political and commercial gain. Buckle up for a trip through glitter-soaked propaganda and queer truths, fueled by hyperpop bangers and high-energy dance. Searching for authenticity in a world that celebrates queerness only when it’s convenient.

In the press

''The strength of All About Us lies in the way it not only critiques the heteronormative system, but also exposes how parts of the queer community throw other marginalized groups under the bus in order to safeguard their own sense of security. Through its brilliant songs and hilarious monologues, the show presents the intersectionality of oppression in a grotesque yet complex way, and the ways in which mutual solidarity is undermined by the system'' - Theaterkrant
