On Forefathers Eve, we invite you for a celebration of Dziady through a performative concert. Book your spot and bring a bite to invoke the dead together!

Dziady in Polish, Dzyady in Belarusian, Dedy in Russian, Didy in Ukrainian, and Ilgės in Lithuanian, is a concept deeply rooted in Slavic folklore. The term encapsulates the spirits of the ancestors and a collection of pre-Christian traditions and rituals dedicated to them.

Dziady is the title of a play by Adam Mickiewicz. It’s one of the most prolific literary writings of the Polish Romanticism era and known to never lose its power of reflecting the aura of the times.

Through a performative concert, Maria Magdałena Kozlowska & Bjørk Delcroix-Semey invoke both the spirit of Mickiewicz's piece as well as our XXI century’s more mundane ghosts.

On Forefathers Eve, 31st October 2023, we invite you for a celebration of Dziady.
