Magical performance concert for four performers + robots
Is there any room left for magic in our hyper-rational lives? According to anthropologists, we use magical thinking to relate to those things we cannot rationally comprehend. And isn’t all the incredible technology that constantly surrounds us not a classic example of this? Mayer leads his musicians into a meditative state of consciousness that allows them to rediscover the intuitive relationship between body and instrument, playing like children. Like shamen of the technological era, they approach the spirits evoked by the complex interplay of light, sound and robotics. Striving, with the audience, to rediscover something of the inner magic of our childhood.
