Frascati Issues: Homo Futurus looks forward, at the human race of the future. As a result of human action, planet Earth is changing around us at an ever faster pace. We are experiencing the irreversible consequences of focusing exclusively on homo sapiens. The human race is set to lose its dominant position at the top of the pyramid. But what will come after? How will man and humanity be transformed by ecological collapse? What will a more equal relationship between humans, plants, animals, nature and technology mean for a future, hybrid humanity? Through theatre, performance and dance, we try to imagine where we are moving towards in a (far-off) future. Using the power of the imagination, we gaze ahead: what comes after the Anthropocene? What forms will future humanity adopt? Frascati Issues: Homo Futurus takes a futuristic look at our future bodies in all kinds of new forms.
Frascati Issues puts burning social issues in the spotlight. Through productions, performances, debates and everything in between, we open up a different view of today’s world. With a new focus each time, and often in close cooperation with organisations from the social field concerned.
